Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Ability to set strategy and vision for medium to large size organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, management and customers as required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple tasks and projects through subordinates.
  • Strong analytical ability and problem identification/problem resolution skills.
  • Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills of large component EPC projects.
  • Customer oriented, managing internal and external demands to deliver on time, first time quality products while maintaining the company's internal financial commitments.
  • Working knowledge in application of industrial construction Codes and Standards (ASME, AWS, ANSI, etc.) and nuclear power generation.

Responsibilities

  • Through subordinate managers and cost centers, ensures effective performance of complex engineering assignments.
  • Plans and directs the timely execution of engineering activities within a major engineering section.
  • Ensures projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies, objectives and customer standards.
  • Develops and/or administers organization engineering standards and procedures for the group.
  • Provides goals, objectives and standards of performance for assigned team members.
  • Develops new or adapted products, methods, systems or models to provide added value solutions to customers.
  • Works interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships.
  • Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements.
  • Works on other special projects, as directed.
