About The Position

The Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the company’s Compliance Management Program (CMP). This role oversees day‑to‑day operational compliance functions, ensures adherence to federal and state regulatory requirements, and promotes a culture of accuracy, accountability, and customer-focused compliance. The Compliance Manager will also provide leadership to assigned teams, support regulatory examinations, and partner with business units to identify, mitigate, and resolve compliance risks.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and consumer protection laws, including TILA, TRID, RESPA, ECOA, FCRA, HMDA, SAFE Act, BSA/AML, and related federal/state requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, teams, priorities, and regulatory deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other analytical tools.
  • 5+ years of managerial or leadership experience in a compliance, quality control, or risk management function.
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations and investor audits.
  • Working knowledge of LOS, compliance monitoring systems, and regulatory reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution and continuous improvement of the Compliance Management Program, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, internal reviews, and training initiatives.
  • Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of compliance-related training for staff across the organization.
  • Monitor and interpret federal and state regulatory requirements such as TILA, TRID, RESPA, ECOA, FCRA, HMDA, SAFE Act, BSA/AML and provide guidance to business units to ensure ongoing adherence.
  • Manage the Redisclosure Team, including daily workflow oversight, quality monitoring, escalations, and hands-on support as needed.
  • Oversee multiple compliance queues (e.g., adverse actions, appraisal transfers, redisclosures) ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required actions.
  • Maintain exceptional data integrity and documentation accuracy within all systems of record, ensuring audit-readiness at all times.
  • Respond to internal and external compliance inquiries in a timely, professional, and well‑documented manner.
  • Assist in regulatory examinations conducted by state and federal agencies, including document preparation, responses, and corrective action tracking.
  • Manage the intake, investigation, and resolution of formal complaints and regulatory inquiries.
  • Support HMDA data integrity reviews, reporting requirements, and Fair Lending analysis activities.
  • Assist with investor audits, conditions clearing, and compliance documentation related to secondary market requirements.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to team members to maintain a collaborative, dependable, and positive work environment.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams, including Operations, Quality Control, Legal, and Executive leadership to identify compliance gaps and develop corrective action plans.
  • Proactively contribute to departmental projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Vice President of Compliance and/or others.
  • Accept and complete additional tasks or special projects as assigned.
  • Promote consistency in decision‑making, a strong customer-service approach, and alignment with organizational values.
