About The Position

As a Compliance Assistant Manager, you'll be a "subject matter expert", and provide advice, oversight and guidance related to deposit and lending regulatory compliance risks, control effectiveness, root cause analysis, and issue review and validation. You'll provide leadership and direction in identifying the applicability and impact of federal and state banking regulations on products and services offered by lines of business. In addition, you'll assist in the review and interpretation of new regulations or changes to existing regulations and evaluate impact assessments. In this role you'll provide oversight, monitoring, and effective challenge. You'll implement the Compliance Management program, and execute compliance risk assessments (CCRA) in the firm's GRC platform, ensuring accurate ratings and rationale for Inherent Risk (IRR), Quality of Risk Management (QRM) and Residual Risk (RRR).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit or similar field.
  • Bachelors degree in related field required.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations (including federal regulations such as B, CC, E, DD, X, Z, UDAAP, UDAP, FCRA, and E-Sign), and industry standards and practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced Understanding of compliance risk management practices and methodologies, including risk and control assessments, with the ability to promptly research and understand regulatory requirements.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services; proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of MS Office with specific focus in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.

  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on state and federal bank compliance laws and regulations.
  • Provide oversight and credible challenges to business compliance risk management activities.
  • Effectively synthesize and communicate compliance information, identify root cause(s) of potential compliance risk, and provide various reports to management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the Bank to gain insight into compliance risks associated with various line of business activities, objectives, practices, processes, and the overall control environment.
  • Raise issues, execute risk assessments, and collaborate in the development and implementation of new compliance policies, practices and tools.
