About The Position

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of cutting-edge cloud-based integration, automated testing and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Compensation Lead to be part of our Human Resources team and based out of our Arlington, VA location. This role will have enterprise responsibility for the design, governance, and evolution of IDT’s compensation programs, supporting continued growth, competitiveness, and compliance within a government contracting environment. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Compensation Lead will act as a principal advisor to senior leadership, People Leaders, and Finance, ensuring compensation decisions are market-informed, equitable, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. This position offers an opportunity to shape and modernize compensation strategy and infrastructure during a period of organizational scale and increased operational complexity. Clearance & Location Requirements: All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. This is an on-site position. Requiring at least 2-3 days in office, based out of our Arlington, VA location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent full-time professional experience
  • 8+ years of progressive compensation or total rewards experience, preferably within government contracting or similarly regulated environments
  • Demonstrated depth in compensation strategy, market pricing, job architecture, and pay equity
  • Experience leading or owning HR systems selection and implementation initiatives
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and operate effectively in an executive-facing role
  • High level of discretion, sound judgment, and comfort handling complex and sensitive matters
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time

Responsibilities

  • Provide enterprise leadership for the design, governance, and administration of IDT’s compensation programs, including salary structures, market pricing, and incentive practices
  • Lead market benchmarking and job architecture efforts to ensure competitive, equitable, and internally consistent pay practices, with a focus on technical and government contracting roles
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Business Leaders, Talent Acquisition, and People Leaders on compensation decisions for hiring, promotions, retention, and critical talent needs
  • Lead annual compensation planning processes, including merit and promotion cycles, in close partnership with Finance and executive leadership
  • Deliver compensation insights, analytics, and recommendations to senior leadership to support workforce planning, budgeting, and risk management
  • Lead the selection and enterprise implementation of a new compensation platform, including requirements definition, competitive RFP process, vendor evaluation, and organizational rollout
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable federal, state, and local compensation-related laws and pay transparency requirements
  • Establish clear frameworks, tools, and guidance to enable consistent, disciplined compensation decision-making across the organization
