Position Summary The Compensation Analyst supports the ongoing calculation, analysis, administration, and accuracy of provider compensation across multiple specialty-dental practices. This role focuses on ensuring that variable compensation aligns with individual employment agreements, doctor productivity, and company policies. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a clear understanding of dental operations, provider production models, and financial reporting. This is a temporary position (3-4 months) starting in January/February 2026.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in compensation analysis, financial analysis, or accounting within a DSO or healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of dental production metrics, collections, and variable compensation models.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas); Power BI or similar data visualization experience helpful.
  • Experience interpreting and applying provider contracts and compensation structures.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a multi-location environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dental practice management or ERP systems (e.g., Denticon, EagleSoft, Open Dental, or Sage Intacct).
  • Prior involvement in provider productivity analysis or RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) reporting.
  • Exposure to multi-entity financial consolidations within a DSO or healthcare group.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and process bi-weekly and monthly provider compensation tied to production, collections, and other contractual metrics.
  • Review provider employment agreements to ensure compensation is calculated accurately and in full compliance with terms.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Payroll and HR to validate production and collections data driving compensation calculations.
  • Reconcile variances between reported production, collections, and expected compensation outcomes; communicate findings to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain standardized models and reporting tools to streamline compensation processing and improve accuracy.
  • Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and reconciling compensation-related accounts.
  • Partner with the Finance and Operations teams to prepare dashboards and reports highlighting provider productivity, incentive payouts, and trends.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and communication of new compensation plans or updates to existing structures.
  • Participate in internal audits and provide documentation to ensure compliance and data integrity.
  • Continuously assess compensation processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability as the organization grows.
