About The Position

Join our team as a Community Service Program Officer, where you'll play a pivotal role in Vermont's Family Supportive Housing (FSH) Program. This program is delivered through community partners across all AHS districts in Vermont. As a Program Officer, you'll oversee program operations, provide training, offer technical assistance, and ensure effective monitoring and reporting for 11+ community organizations dedicated to housing navigation and retention services for Vermont families. You'll be part of a dynamic team committed to ending homelessness in Vermont through collaboration with community-based service providers and coalitions.   Please provide both a cover letter and resume as part of your application materials.

Requirements

  • A strong commitment to housing first principles, trauma-informed care, multi-generational holistic family approaches, and strengths-based relationships.
  • Familiarity with housing and homeless systems of care, holistic family services, evidence-based and emerging practices in human services and housing, and federal regulations (HUD/Medicaid).
  • Experience in the coordination and delivery of training and technical assistance to support best practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, build organizational capacity, and engage in joint problem-solving. Excellent communication skills to ensure accountability and foster relationships with program leaders and direct service staff.
  • Experience with monitoring and/or quality assurance processes.
  • Bachelor's degree AND four (4) or more years in human services, housing, community development or related field.
  • OR
  • High school graduation or equivalent AND six (6) or more years in human services, housing, community development or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Training: Develop and deliver training for FSH providers on the FSH program aligning with the program model and policies.
  • Technical Assistance: Identify needs and provide technical assistance to FSH provider agencies to enhance program design and effectiveness.
  • Monitoring: Conducting regular programmatic monitoring, including desktop reviews and comprehensive onsite evaluations.
  • Reporting: Compile programmatic data and create statewide reports, sharing statewide aggregated information on program performance.
