About The Position

Community Relationship Manager (CRM) – Western Slope Colorado division/department Marketing and Community Relations classification Exempt nature of position The person in this role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to— Increase CHFA’s visibility and presence in the Western Slope Colorado region. Identify local issues, needs, and opportunities, with the goal of increasing impacts and outcomes. Expand CHFA’s network of local partners to assist in advancing affordable housing and economic development goals. Strengthen CHFA’s brand awareness in local communities and ensure CHFA is thought of as a respected partner. The CRM will actively engage and build collaborative relationships with key housing and economic development stakeholders, community members, customers, and local government through outreach, capacity building, and identification of opportunities to increase community investment. This position is CHFA’s lead community engagement contact for a multi-county region. The location of this position will be remote and require extensive travel within the regional service area and statewide. This position is CHFA’s lead community engagement contact for the Western Slope region, including Delta, Garfield, Jackson, Mesa, Moffat, Rio Blanco and Routt counties. The incumbent must reside in South Central Colorado and will work remotely and from CHFA’s Grand Junction office. The position reports to the Man-ager of Regional Community Relationships.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of state and federal affordable housing finance programs, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Private Activity Bonds, HOME, CDBG, and other sources of financing. Special emphasis will be placed on affordable housing and economic development issues.
  • Effective project management skills including task management, scheduling projects, utilizing appropriate resources, and follow-up documentation as needed
  • Organizational skills to ensure the deadlines established for tasks, projects, and schedules are met
  • Budget and program analysis skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a positive, diplomatic, and friendly manner to co-workers, subordinates, and customers.
  • Ability to effectively learn and utilize the software associated with the programs
  • Ability to create and present public presentations on behalf of CHFA to key stakeholders, CHFA’s Loan Committee, Board of Directors, and external customers.

  • Establish rapport with persons of diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds is essential
  • Five years of previous work in community development or equivalent experience in the following: Marketing loan products or other programs utilizing creative and unique marketing skills Effective outreach and engagement with community members, leaders, government, housing and economic development agencies, and/or other community stakeholders Experience and knowledge of state, federal, and local housing, and economic development programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
  • Work experience must include a job history of progressively higher-level positions within the field
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Serves as CHFA’s point of contact for Western Slope Colorado community engagement efforts: assess affordable housing and economic development needs throughout the region and use the information as the basis for the development of goals, values, and strategies to support the accomplishment of CHFA’s mission.
  • Through effective and timely communication, provide feedback to CHFA senior management regarding market conditions, opportunities, key partnerships, product recommendations, and resource gaps.
  • Marketing CHFA’s affordable housing and economic development programs: attend community events, groundbreaking ceremonies, trade fairs, and other functions to increase CHFA’s presence and visibility in the region.
  • Work with the Marketing and Community Relations team in conjunction with Core Business teams to develop and implement an effective marketing plan for the Western Slope region; utilize the marketing plan to develop and maintain contacts and meet with customers and potential customers to promote CHFA’s programs.
  • Collaborate with other regional relationship managers within CHFA and other external agencies, such as DOLA and the Division of Housing.
  • Budget input: assist the Manager of Regional Community Relationships in creating regional budgets based on a viable Western Slope Colorado marketing and operating plan.
  • Facilitate collaboration throughout CHFA to achieve business strategies and financial goals
  • Practice effective conflict resolution techniques to foster a positive and productive working environment
  • Model and encourage open and effective communication
  • Ensure strong customer focus and communication with all CHFA internal and external customers
  • Work closely with the Leadership Team and staff to help CHFA achieve organizational goals
  • Respond to all internal, and external Audit or Compliance Department findings in a timely and comprehensive manner
  • Make independent decisions related to internal process requirements
  • All other duties and projects as assigned
