About The Position

The Community Programs Coordinator - CMHA, provides leadership in assigned areas within Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) properties. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating staff-led programs for girls in grades K-12. Programs are delivered within the framework of Girl Scouts of North East Ohio (GSNEO) council's goals and objectives in accordance with specific grants. This position is accountable for coordinating and delivering in-person, high-quality programs, recruiting and mentoring volunteers and staff, supporting and developing systems for best practices, administering evaluations, and cultivating partnerships to support future or expanded Girl Scout programming in targeted areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or experience commensurate with a degree
  • 3-5 years of customer service experience
  • Experience in program development and implementation

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
  • Computer literacy and technical knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Will need to learn other software specific to GSNEO and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA).
  • Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary
  • Ability to work with all organizational levels of the council with respect
  • Self-starter – assesses own skills and abilities and identifies areas for improvement
  • Able to work with many priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work well as part of a team or independently with minimal oversight by taking the initiative
  • Ability to meet travel requirements, including night, weekend, and overnight travel
  • Valid driver’s license; proof of insurance and access to an insured vehicle in working condition

Responsibilities

  • Implement program activities aligned with the National Program Curriculum, Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), and grant guidelines for assigned programs
  • Plan, implement and recruit for Girl Scout programs to maximize community visibility and support the staff-led experience
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor volunteers to sustain delivery of the National Program Curriculum and Girl Scout Leadership Experience in accordance with grant requirements and GSNEO policies and guidelines
  • Collaborate across departments to on-board and support volunteers, promote programs, and provide support and training on best practices
  • Work closely with the Manager, Grant, and Funded Initiatives to monitor program participation, expenses, outcome measurement, successes, and challenges
  • Research facilities to house staff-led programs that focus on under-resourced areas
  • Train, mentor, and support grant program facilitators for assigned grants as needed
  • Records and reports data on attendance and programmatic outcomes in accordance with grant requirements
  • Represents GSNEO in the community and provides presentations to potential partners, funders, and the community at large to further the Girl Scout mission and values
  • Ensure that inclusion and belonging is embraced and incorporated into the work of the council
  • Other duties as assigned to promote the successful implementation of GSNEO’s goals/objectives
