About The Position

The Community Health Interventions Lab (CHIL) at the University at Buffalo is looking to hire a Community Outreach Coordinator to support our mission of creating equitable and just food systems. We currently run a campus-based mobile market to address student nutrition insecurity. We are also promoting local agriculture through our Eat Local Western New York (WNY) Campaign. This position would be responsible for supporting the mobile market, overseeing outreach as well as providing technical assistance and training to organizations interested in running similar programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field and at least 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to engage community members face-to-face about their local food system on university campus and surrounding Buffalo communities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with group facilitation and engagement.
  • Knowledge/experience working with food insecure and/or lower-income populations
  • Experience with coaching or delivering education curriculum.
  • Research experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute outreach strategies for the Eat Local WNY Campaign
  • Assist with mobile market operations
  • Coordinate webinars and other trainings for partners
