About The Position

Coordinates with the Central Kitchen to provide services to participants of the Congregate Dining program. Works closely with the Community Nutrition Program Manager to provide operational support to the Congregate Dining Program.

Requirements

  • Computer skills sufficient to learn specific departmental software programs.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information regarding all aspects of participant, volunteer, employee, and agency information.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish good relationships with employee, participants, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Ability to represent the Agency in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to adjust priorities to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to meet department standards regarding job knowledge, participant focus, initiative, productivity, communication, teamwork, and attendance.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid Michigan driver's license in good standing is required.
  • One year of clerical experience is required.
  • Completion of the ServSafe Food Manager Certification Course through the Michigan Restaurant Association within 6 months of employment is required.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment physical

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary congregate Dining Site Coordinator at Sam Corey Dining site.
  • Provides coverage at various Dining Sites as assigned by the Community Nutrition Program Manager that will include maintaining appropriate food standards, preparing the site for delivery of food, setting up food stations, greet participants, and provide a welcoming environment.
  • Provides support to the Community Nutrition Program Manager to ensure proper execution of dining site tasks as well as ensures coverage for all Congregate Dining sites daily.
  • Prepares and distributes various business correspondence including letters, memos, reports, and program documents.
  • Organizes, processes and completes data entry for all month end documents.
  • Helps maintain participant and volunteer databases.
  • Serves as a go-to person when volunteers have questions or concerns.
  • Provide support for registering participants for the Senior Project Fresh Program.
  • Coordinate volunteer involvement in the registration process.
