About The Position

The Community Health Assistant will support the Mohegan Tribe Health Department in planning, implementing, and evaluating community-based health programs that promote wellness, chronic disease prevention, and healthy lifestyles. This position will assist with community outreach, program coordination, data collection, and administrative support to ensure successful delivery of health initiatives funded through grant programs.

Comfortable interacting with community members of all ages
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and travel occasionally in the local and nonlocal regions
Passionate about public health, community wellness, and working in a culturally grounded environment
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
High school diploma or equivalent
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
One (1) year related experience in community health, public health, health education, or social services
Successful candidate must pass the background check in accordance with the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (ICPA)
No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude or issues of integrity
Valid driver’s license from state of resident
