About The Position

Make is the leading visual platform for anyone to design, build, and automate anything—from tasks and workflows to apps and systems—without the need for coding skills. We are headquartered in the flourishing tech hub of Prague, Czech Republic, and our teams are spread across the USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, India and Chile, among other locations. As a Community Events Manager, you will be the backbone of the "Local" pillar of the Make Community. Your mission is to scale Make’s real-world presence across the US and beyond by empowering our most passionate users to become local community leaders. You aren't here to personally deliver every event. You act as the strategic advisor and force multiplier—scouting high-impact markets, sourcing Chapter Leads, and ensuring they have the tools and brand alignment needed to host world-class events. You execute our global strategy through others, ensuring every Make experience is consistent, high-quality, and community-led.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years in community operations or field marketing, with a specific focus on managing ambassador or chapter programs.
  • Volunteer Stewardship: Proven experience in recruiting, training, and motivating community leaders to deliver high-quality results.
  • Operational Rigor: Exceptional project management skills; you can manage dozens of moving parts across time zones without losing the "Make standard."
  • Consultative Mindset: Strong ability to coach and advise Chapter Leads through the planning process, providing expertise rather than manual labor.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to troubleshooting logistics and iterating on playbooks to prevent future friction.
  • Data-Organized: Comfortable using tools to track event progress and analyze performance metrics.
  • Location & Travel: US-based with a willingness to travel for flagship events or chapter launches.
  • Communication: Flawless English skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain brand alignment across diverse cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Market Scouting: Research and identify high-impact tech and no-code communities to find the best environments for community events.
  • Chapter Lead Sourcing: Identify and vet potential Chapter Leads—local experts who represent Make—ensuring they align with our culture and values.
  • Onboard & Enable: Train Chapter Leads to use our playbooks, empowering them to host high-quality, autonomous events that meet the Make standard.
  • Operational Consulting: Act as the primary advisor for Chapter Leads during event planning, helping them navigate venue sourcing and logistics without doing the "heavy lifting" for them.
  • Program Evolution: Execute the chapters program while providing the feedback and data needed to constantly improve our global strategy and playbooks.
  • Online/Offline Bridge: Ensure the energy and content from local IRL events is captured and shared back to our online community channels.
  • Chapter Advocacy: Support and motivate Chapter Leads daily, keeping them energized and on-brand through clear, consistent communication.
  • Logistics & Swag: Manage the distribution of community rewards and event materials to ensure Chapter Leads are equipped to represent Make professionally.
  • Analyze & Report: Monitor attendance, sentiment, and growth metrics to measure the program’s success and market impact.
