About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a flexible support staff member (floater), adapting to different work environments and responsibilities based on departmental needs within Vocational Enterprises. This position will provide coverage for vacant positions across multiple work areas and assist in daily operations of the following programs and departments as assigned: Handicrafts, Work Centers I&II, Soap & Laundry, Mobile Work, and SEP. This position also will provide assistance with VE Transport, Tech Work, Munchroom, Mail Courier, and wood room when needed. ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services or business field such as human resources, marketing, business administration, business management, healthcare management, or public administration from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate’s degree in a human services or business field (identified above) from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related work experience; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) and four years of directly related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Applicants must have the ability to pass a physical requirements test.
  • Applicants will be required to successfully complete the Murdoch Developmental Center “Basic Training Series”; which includes, but is not limited to program library training, First Aid, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Techniques (NVCI), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing direct support and oversight to individuals with I/DD to include completion of classroom/work tasks.
  • Physical ability to interact with individuals performing a variety of onsite job duties.
  • Experience using teaching strategies to improve performance and/or increase independence.
  • Experience utilizing behavior management techniques, and task analysis techniques for individuals with I/DD.
