About The Position

The Community Education Coordinator is responsible for developing, promoting, and managing high-quality, non-credit personal interest programs that engage and serve a diverse community, including adults, youth, and families. This role ensures programs are responsive to community needs, foster lifelong learning, and uphold standards of educational excellence. General supervision is received by the assigned manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or curriculum development and two years’ experience in program development, community outreach or adult education
  • Experience in developing and assessing curriculum
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required
  • Strong customer service, financial, and organizational skills are required
  • Strong skills in project management, marketing, communication, and the ability to build partnerships with diverse community groups
  • Proficiency in data analysis, budgeting, and using educational or event management platforms

  • Master's degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage non-credit, personal interest educational programs for a diverse community, including adults, youth, and families.
  • Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and forums to promote educational opportunities and foster engagement.
  • Assist with recruitment of instructors and facilitators for community education classes.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of marketing strategies to promote programs through digital, print, and community outreach channels.
  • Coordinate logistics such as scheduling classes, securing locations, and managing registration processes.
  • Monitor program budgets and ensure financial sustainability through cost-effective planning and revenue generation.
  • Evaluate program outcomes and gather feedback to improve course offerings and overall participant satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, local organizations, businesses, and community groups.
  • Assist others as needed during heavy registration periods.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
