Community Development, Senior Advisor - Consultant (REMOTE ROLE)
About The Position
Your passion is supporting communities with implementing best practice strategies to provide expert consulting skills and programmatic expertise to serve the needs of low- and moderate-income families . At ICF you can put that passion into action by joining our team of experts working to support our work with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide technical assistance , specifically for the Office of Affordable Housing Programs (OAHP) . This position is ON-CALL (part-time with variable hours) and work remote . Assignments are made on a demand-response basis so hours are completely variable. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Planning, Public Policy, Government or a related discipline or m inimum 10 years of professional experience in similar field
- Minimum of 20 years knowledge in HUD Office of Affordable Housing Programs
- Demonstrated success developing and delivering trainings , workshops and webinar s; f acilitation, and public speaking to a variety of audiences .
- A commitment to affordable housing and serving all of those who are underserved
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions
- Ability to multi-task with various projects and responsibilities
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
Nice To Haves
- Experience and expertise in other federal mainstream housing and services programs
- Previous work with other governmental agencies, a plus
- Broad knowledge i n cross-cutting Federal requirements (e.g., Labor, Fair Housing, Relocation, etc.) a plus
Responsibilities
- Support a national team of training and technical assistance providers, dedicated to the field of affordable housing
- Work with a diverse set of stakeholders including cities, counties, states and nonprofit entities receiving technical assistance through HUD and other industry partners
- Focus on the field of HUD affordable housing programs, including the HOME Investment Partnerships, National Housing Trust Fund, and other related programs
- Develop/deliver training sessions, conference presentations, workshops, and webinars
- Focus on best practice and innovative strategies related to affordable housing programs.
- Contribute to the design of tools, drafting of reports, and development of policy guidance
