About The Position

We are seeking an amazing individual to join our Kids Free to Grow team to positively impact the lives of Maine children and families! As a Community Coordinator for Kids Free to Grow, you will serve as the community point person for child abuse and neglect prevention coordination for Cumberland County by bringing together community stakeholders and project partners to collaborate with Kids Free to Grow. You'll assist in the county’s implementation of the selected prevention plan, programs and strategies, build public awareness, and mobilize community support and buy-in. Additionally, you will attend events and do outreach when needed for a strong community collaboration. Responsibilities include overseeing program implementation, direct training and parenting program delivery, and developing specific programs to enhance the wellbeing of children and families. Travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years experience working with parents and children
  • Possess a valid drivers license with good driving record and proof of auto insurance
  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Are knowledgeable of child abuse prevention
  • Have knowledge of evaluation approaches, strategies and techniques, evidence based primary prevention programs, and available community resources in order to provide resource referrals to families
  • Able to work occasional evenings when needed, in place of daytime hours with flexible scheduling
