The Communications/Multi-Media Specialist will help the Hinds County Board of Supervisors efforts to produce and edit multimedia programming and digital content and other online platforms; access website social media. Coordinate the development and production of quality video programs and multimedia content to meet the Board of Supervisors needs; and perform other duties as assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the County Administrator. EXAMPLE OF BASIC TASKS AND DUTIES The following examples are intended only as illustrations of various types of work performed in positions allocated to this occupational class. No attempt is made to be exhaustive; related similar, or other logical duties are performed as assigned. Plans, develops, and implements multiplatform strategic communication plans. Shoot/edit/produce internal videos for creative video messaging for employee communications. Supports County Administrator and Director of Administrations with digital video graphics and videos for social media accounts. Manage the creative development and production of video, photography, and media for the county access channel, social media and online platforms; and resources. Receive, evaluate, and prioritize requests for video productions and audiovisual services from the county. Identify programming opportunities. Knowledge of social media strategy and use. Ability to work to collaborate with team members. Serve as key member of the Public Information team. Oversee operations for government access channel, streamed content, and web-based and archived videos. Set up equipment. Conduct live meeting broadcasts. Performs special projects as directed by Director. Participates in 24/7 social media monitoring rotation. Stays abreast of social media trends. Performs other duties as assigned.
