About The Position

Lehigh Valley Academy (LVA) is seeking a creative, highly organized, and responsive Media & Communications Specialist to support schoolwide communications, visual media, and branding efforts. This role is responsible for photography and editing, graphic design, website updates, and timely creation of communications materials that support students, staff, families, and school initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who can manage multiple priorities, respond quickly to requests, and collaborate effectively across departments in a fast-paced school environment.

Responsibilities

• Photograph school events, classrooms, athletics, performances, and special programs
• Edit photos and video for web, social media, print, and internal use
• Maintain and organize a searchable digital photo and video archive
• Ensure all media aligns with LVA brand standards and FERPA/photo permission guidelines
• Design flyers, posters, social media graphics, presentations, signage, and promotional materials
• Create and edit materials using Canva and other design tools as needed
• Produce school IDs and other official visual materials
• Ensure consistency across all school communications and marketing assets
• Update and maintain website content (events, announcements, program pages, visuals)
• Coordinate timely posting of news, calendars, and updates
• Collaborate with departments to keep content accurate and current
• Respond promptly to requests for communications materials from administration and departments
• Support internal and external communications efforts (events, enrollment, staff initiatives)
• Assist with schoolwide campaigns, celebrations, and recognition efforts
• Guide and support Yearbook Club and/or student media groups
• Oversee timelines, content standards, and coordination with yearbook vendors
• Support student learning in photography, layout, and media production
• Manage relationships with contracted photographers for school picture days
• Coordinate schedules, logistics, and deliverables
• Review proofs and ensure quality and timelines are met
