About The Position

BMA is seeking a Communications Maintainer to join our team. This position is located in Williamsburg, VA and is contingent on contract award. Job Summary Perform hands-on inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of NAVELSG’s portable and vehicle-mounted communications equipment, including PRC-series radios, RF-series systems, GPS DAGERs, antennas, amplifiers, power supplies, and related assemblies. Ensure all equipment remains fully mission-capable, properly configured, and accurately documented within DPAS-WM, OMMS-NG, and Navy 3M PMS systems. Your responsibilities include replacing damaged components, conducting diagnostics with authorized test equipment, supporting COMSEC accountability, and maintaining calibration records. Sustain deployable, dependable communications assets, you directly enable battalions and regiments to maintain command-and-control capability across NAVELSG’s global expeditionary operations. Perform routine and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on portable and vehicle-mounted radio systems, amplifiers, GPS devices, and antennas. Conduct technical inspections using multimeters, meggers, spectrum analyzers, authorized test sets, and OEM-approved diagnostic tools. Replace HUB batteries, connectors, cables, antennas, and damaged components in accordance with technical manuals and Navy repair standards. Maintain equipment records, calibration certificates, maintenance logs, and repair documentation in DPAS-WM, OMMS-NG, and Navy 3M PMS systems. Support COMSEC handling, accountability, proper storage, and tracking of sensitive communications material. Assist with antenna configuration, basic programming tasks, and functional testing prior to deployment or reconstitution. Ensure all maintenance actions comply with OEM technical manuals, safety requirements, and NECC/NAVELSG communications readiness standards. Support readiness and cost reporting through accurate data uploads and synchronization with RCRP and related readiness systems. Collaborate with Communications Maintainer – Team Leader, Supply, and Warehouse personnel to coordinate repair parts requisitioning and equipment staging.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of experience in radio, electronic equipment maintenance, or tactical communications support.
  • Familiarity with PRC-series radios, RF-series systems, GPS DAGERs, and related Navy expeditionary communications equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Navy 3M PMS, OMMS-NG, and preventive maintenance documentation.
  • Proficiency with multimeters, meggers, and diagnostic/repair procedures for communications equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and troubleshooting guides.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal communications, electronics, or radio-repair coursework or certification.
  • Experience supporting NAVELSG, NECC, or other expeditionary communications programs.
  • COMSEC familiarity or entry-level certification (if not already qualified).
  • Completion of annual OPSEC, Cyber Awareness, and Navy Safety training.
