About The Position

Winsupply is in the business of creating and enabling entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams through wholesale distribution. Winsupply is a group of over 670 locally-owned companies that operate across a variety of industries, including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and more. The purpose of the support services campus is to eliminate obstacles and provide support to help our entrepreneurs succeed. Support service employees assist entrepreneurs in achieving their dreams through finance, accounting, IT, and other back-office operations. Internship Summary The Winsupply Internship Program offers students a unique opportunity to build valuable skills through immersive classroom learning, off-site training, and a collaborative capstone project. The program is structured to promote professional development by offering mentorship, meaningful networking opportunities, and hands-on experience in real-world projects. Participants will not only develop their careers but also make a significant impact within the Winsupply organization, contributing to innovative solutions and long-term success. Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and talented Communications Specialist Intern to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent public speaking and writing skills, with a passion for strategic thinking and meticulous attention to detail. The intern should thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and possess strong interpersonal and communication abilities. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while contributing to driving strategic messages to key internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college, either at the undergraduate or master’s level.
  • One semester post-graduation

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies, including media outreach and social media content creation.
  • Research and draft press releases, website content, infographics, blogs, and newsletters.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies while staying informed of relevant industry developments.
  • Help organize press conferences and coordinate events.
  • Collaborate in facilitating resolutions to disputes with external stakeholders.
  • Adhere to the company’s style guide to ensure high-quality, error-free communication materials.
  • Brainstorm content ideas with internal teams to align with the company’s strategy and brand initiatives.
  • Assist in evaluating the results of communication campaigns with the team.
  • Build and nurture relationships with journalists and external stakeholders.
