About The Position

We are seeking an energetic, organized, and motivated Communications Assistant to support our team in executing event-focused communications for fundraising, marketing, and promotional campaigns. This is an entry-level, hands-on role that provides real-world experience in public relations, community engagement, and event communications. No prior experience is required—we provide paid training, mentorship, and exposure to all aspects of event communications from day one. Role Overview As a Communications Assistant, you will help manage communications before, during, and after live events, ensuring consistent messaging, engaging public interaction, and smooth execution. You’ll work closely with the event and marketing teams to promote campaigns, support donor and community outreach, and create a professional brand presence.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in fast-paced, event-driven environments

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and distributing event-related communications, including social media posts, email notifications, newsletters, and press materials
  • Support event setup, on-site coordination, and breakdown with clear, professional communication
  • Engage attendees, donors, and community members to promote campaigns and maintain a positive brand presence
  • Maintain contact lists and update communications databases before and after events
  • Help track event performance, including attendee engagement, media coverage, and feedback
  • Collaborate with marketing, PR, and event teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation
  • Provide administrative support, reporting, and post-event communications follow-up
