About The Position

What you can look forward to as a Commercial Vehicle Transmission Mechanic Perform complete disassembly and reassembly of ZF transmissions including implementing product updates. Inspect units including identifying parts, reordering materials, shop order accountability and unit cleanliness in preparation for assembly. Assemble units to include correct measurements, verifying product updates, completing subassemblies, and completing warranty / repair actions. Verify unit functionality through completed testing procedures, uploading test reports and shop order management Work closely with the technical service team to develop shop order requirements Diagnose/Troubleshoot gearboxes, clearly communicate specifications to technical service Work independently and may travel locally to customer locations. Work on Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) safety sensitive product, achieve and maintain D.O.T. certification. Performs related tasks as assigned by department supervisor. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Valid Driver's License required

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational school or 3+ years mechanical product experience preferred.
  • Mechanical quality control test methods and calibrated tools experience preferred
  • Knowledge of hand and pneumatic tools; forklift or pallet jack experience preferred
  • Previous experience with lean manufacturing, remanufacturing processes, KPI measurement and control preferred
