About The Position

Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, the Commercial Sales Representative is responsible to cultivate new customer partnerships for Superior Plus Propane. Working within a defined Territory and/or Line-of-Business, the Commercial Sales Representative will actively market and sell Superior Plus Propane solutions to new customers, delivering on predetermined sales goals and performance expectations. Requirements

  • 3+ years of consultative sales experience in commercial sales environment within vertical industries (propane or oil, construction, manufacturing, service-related industries).
  • Strong focus on new business development
  • Exceptional customer service skills and relationship management skills

  • Computer skills (Windows, MS Office, Salesforce an asset)
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to vehicle with ability to travel regularly within Western MA and Northern CT
  • Ability to travel for 2-3 nights per month
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Sales Manager to develop, recommend and execute a sales plan that leverages national and regional programs and resources to consistently meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Prospect, research and identify new business opportunities and work the sales plan to create awareness, discover customer needs and deliver product and service solutions.
  • Initiate and lead the sales cycle/process as a subject matter expert and act as the customer’s key contact and resource. Build strong business relationships with prospective customers and manage the sales funnel/cycle by continually following up on their current business needs and anticipating future business needs.
  • Prepare and confidently present sales proposals, including pricing and product/service terms, to key decision makers. Influence, negotiate and close the sale with the best interest of the company and the customer in mind.
  • Collaborate with and engage the Regional Leadership Team to ensure the needs of the customer can be and will be met.
  • Communicate regularly and prepare reports on key performance indicators and communication on sales progress within the sales funnel/cycle and achievements. Intimately know customer base and area activity and utilize information and data to capitalize on sales opportunities and recommend sales strategies.
  • Resolve any issues as they arise and involves subject matter experts and key decision makers as needed to remove obstacles.
  • Own the account from prospecting through to ongoing account management.
  • Promote and represent Superior Plus Propane positively and professionally within the community and industry to all customers, competitors and industry associates.
