About The Position

The Insurance Lead oversees a team responsible for commercial insurance review, compliance tracking, and vendor coordination. The Lead ensures service level adherence, policy compliance, and operational consistency, while providing coaching and oversight to team members. This role also collaborates cross-functionally with compliance, risk, and vendor management functions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED of Foreign Equivalent.
• 6+ Years experience in an insurance related company, large commercial bank or related financial institution.
• Minimum of 1+ year mentoring and/or coaching other team members.
• Strong understanding of flood, property, general liability, and specialty insurance products
• Strong understanding of FEMA flood guidelines, FDPA, and commercial compliance standards.
• Knowledge of banking regulations such as FDPA, RESPA, and other commercial lending compliance standards.
• Proficiency in insurance tracking platforms and loan servicing systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights.
• Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
• Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.
• Fosters or supports a positive work culture and productive work environment, displaying importance of effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

• Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) ; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working with third-party insurance tracking vendors (e.g., HUB, Proctor, Allied)

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of the commercial insurance review team, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Act as the first line of escalation for complex or unresolved insurance issues.
• Coordinate team workflow, distribute assignments, and ensure adherence to service levels.
• Develop and monitor team performance metrics, providing regular reporting to leadership.
• Coach and develop staff, conduct quality reviews, and identify training opportunities.
• Manage relationships with third-party insurance tracking vendors and oversee vendor performance.
• Assist in developing and updating policies, procedures, and training materials.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (servicing, legal, compliance) on process improvements and audit readiness.
• Lead team meetings and represent the insurance function in broader operational initiatives.
• Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
• Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings.
• Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
