The Commercial Estimator is responsible for doing material take-offs to develop project estimates from blueprints or other drawings provided for general commercial projects.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Punctual, accountable and able to accomplish tasks within a given deadline
Able to assess and prioritize tasks and demands
Able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Good computer skills, experience using Microsoft Suite

Nice To Haves

Ability to read blueprints or construction plans to develop take-offs and cost estimates
Experience using or knowledge of CAD software
Experience using or knowledge of Bluebeam software
Experience working on commercial projects in any function

Responsibilities

Complete full-cycle bidding process for commercial projects, including reviewing blueprints, creating quotes, pricing material, and placing orders.
Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
Informs the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.
Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
Enter and maintain all quotes in company’s internal tracking system.
Provides submittals and shop drawings as needed using CAD.
Works with project manager to coordinate project handoffs.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
