About The Position

The Commercial Construction Manager (CM) serves as the on-site leader and primary field representative for commercial flooring projects nationwide, coordinating between General Contractors, flooring subcontractors, and internal Project Managers. The Construction Manager role is similar to that of a field superintendent and is responsible for maintaining project schedules, overseeing commercial flooring installations, and fostering strong working relationships on active job sites. In addition to managing day-to-day field operations, the CM gathers critical, real-time information related to project conditions, materials, and installation progress and communicates that information back to the Project Manager to support effective planning and execution. This position requires consistent, full-time travel across multiple markets and extended time on active job sites.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a commercial Construction Manager (not residential construction).
  • 3+ years of commercial construction experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel full-time temporarily outside of North Carolina.
  • An energetic "go getter" who takes initiative and values doing things right the 1st time
  • Highly organized with an eye for details
  • Strong follow-up and communication skills with all external and internal players of commercial construction projects.
  • Must have a valid Driver License & clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) is a plus, but is not required.
  • Existing in-market relationships with commercial construction GC's and/or commercial flooring installation crews is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site lead for commercial flooring projects across multiple markets, providing consistent field oversight and direction.
  • Travel full-time to active project sites to support installations, training, and operational coverage as business needs require.
  • Partner with General Contractor Superintendents and Project Managers to maintain schedules, resolve field issues, and keep projects moving forward.
  • Oversee commercial flooring subcontractors to ensure work is performed to scope, quality standards, and safety expectations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, monitor installation progress, and proactively identify and address risks or deficiencies.
  • Coordinate material staging, storage, and site security in alignment with project plans.
  • Manage punch list activities through completion and obtain General Contractor acceptance.
  • Support change order documentation, progress billing, and field reporting in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Maintain accurate, timely project updates in company project management systems, including ProCore and BuildPro.
  • Represent RFCI professionally in the field and uphold company standards across all assigned job sites.
