About The Position

As a part time CBRE Maintenance Technician Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the operations of commercial buildings and critical infrastructure. This technical internship is ideal for students pursuing careers in mechanical systems, HVAC, or building maintenance. You'll work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to learn the fundamentals of building maintenance in a real-world environment. What You'll Do: Work under the guidance of a senior mechanical technician or to support day-to-day maintenance operations. Assist with routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, pumps, motors, air handlers, fire suppression systems, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment. Learn to use diagnostic tools and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders and equipment performance. Support energy efficiency initiatives by collecting data and helping identify opportunities for system optimization. Help perform basic repairs and adjustments to mechanical systems under supervision. Participate in safety meetings and learn about compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Shadow technicians during emergency response procedures and learn about critical system redundancies. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on special projects, such as equipment upgrades or retrofits. What You'll Need: Currently enrolled in high school in the Hillsboro, OR.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Interest in mechanical systems, building operations, or energy management.
  • Basic understanding of tools, mechanical components, and safety practices.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in own job.
  • Simple math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
