As a Commercial Banker at Mercantile Bank in Troy, MI, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the Bank's profitability through relationship-building with customers and prospects. Your responsibilities will include systematically developing a potential customer list and utilizing your cross-selling skills to promote bank products, including deposits and treasury management solutions. You will assess loan requests for alignment with the Bank's credit and profitability standards while diligently monitoring credit and asset quality through consistent reporting and follow-up with borrowers. Representing the Bank at various community functions will allow you to strengthen local ties, while you manage and grow a commercial loan portfolio aimed at maximizing earnings and minimizing delinquency. Your commitment to excellent customer service will be key, as will your ability to prepare loan write-ups, maintain reporting systems, and present client insights to the Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Proven history of managing a diverse C&I loan portfolio of at least $150 million
  • Ten or more years' commercial lending experience
  • Formal bank credit training and experience as a Credit Analyst
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
