About The Position

Anaconda is seeking a talented Commercial Account Executive to join their rapidly growing company. This role offers an excellent opportunity to leverage experience and skills in the world of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Anaconda is transforming how enterprises harness open-source AI and data science to accelerate innovation, partnering with organizations already using Python and open-source technologies to help them scale securely, govern usage, and deliver real business outcomes. The Account Executive will own the full sales cycle, from discovery through close, building relationships with both technical and business stakeholders. They will collaborate closely with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product to deliver value at every stage. The 'Commercial' market at Anaconda refers to organizations with 1,000 or fewer employees, selling to buyers across data teams, platform engineering, security, and sometimes procurement, without the executive complexity of enterprise deals. The role involves helping customers transition from free, open-source adoption to licensed, governed solutions that enable teams to scale safely, moving deals with reasonable velocity while maintaining a consultative, value-driven approach, and balancing independence as a sales leader without heavy reliance on Sales Engineering.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience
  • Proven record of closing business
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to learn and assimilate technical information quickly
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC, Challenger, or similar enterprise sales methodologies
  • Demonstrated flexibility, organization, and driven
  • Experience using Salesforce for managing pipeline

Nice To Haves

  • Technical sales experience specific to AI / Machine Learning, developer tooling, or cybersecurity

  • Experience working in an open-source, AI, or data science-oriented company

Responsibilities

  • Manage and follow up with leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business in assigned territory for the Commercial market through cold calling / outbound reach
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of company products and pricing structure
  • Utilize Salesforce.com for scheduling, pipeline reporting, developing prospective customer profiles, and documenting all sales-related activities
  • Accurately and consistently forecast business in SFDC
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate account/opportunity information
  • Account planning and forecasting for Commercial accounts
  • Calendar and meeting management
  • Participate in handoff calls with implementation
  • Prospecting and closing to meet or exceed sales / revenue goals for assigned territory
