As a Columbia River Fishery Sampler (Biological Science Assistant) for the Ocean Salmon & Columbia River Program (OSCRP) in Astoria, Oregon, you will: Collect catch and effort data from recreational fisheries on the lower Columbia River Collect information on commercial fisheries Participate in commercial fishery monitoring, test fishing, hatchery sampling, coded-wire tag recovery, and tagging projects The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Requirements

• Minimum qualifications are not established for this position; however, we are seeking applicants with the following experience or skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience collecting and recording data
• Experience collecting biological samples
• Experience identifying adult fish species, particularly salmonids
• Field survey experience
• Boating experience
• Anyone who has or is in pursuit of a Fisheries or Wildlife Science degree or related degree in biological/ecological sciences

Responsibilities

• Collect catch and effort data from recreational fisheries on the lower Columbia River
• Collect information on commercial fisheries
