About The Position

Nemours is seeking a Colorectal Center Coordinator Nurse (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida. Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve; we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region. The Colorectal Center Coordinator Nurse is responsible for the planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating safe patient care for patients in the colorectal program. Drives quality outcomes in the colorectal center through best practice. Consults and collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary colorectal healthcare team. Serves as the primary point of contact and information gate keeper for all patients managed within the colorectal program. Utilizes and promotes use of NCH guidelines, policies, and standards of professional organization (AORN) in conducting patient care. Identifies individual patient’s needs to achieve the best clinical results utilizing evidence-based research. Develops and monitors a plan of care through an interdisciplinary approach with other clinical team members. Assists with development and implementation of department quality service plans and process improvement. Assists in the monitoring and analysis of processes and patient outcomes. Evaluates change outcomes and redirects as needed Acts as a primary resource regarding new equipment, forms, methods, care delivery, and/or computers in the clinic and educates fellow staff accordingly. Serves as the primary point of contact and information gate keeper for all patients managed within the colorectal program. Participates in clinic, hospital meetings, and shared governance/unit council. Participates in research, quality improvement activities, and special projects. Participates in evidence-based practice through application of policy, review of literature, and/or participation in nursing research. Plans, implements, and evaluates program changes. Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee’s supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum (3) three years of Nursing experience.
  • State of Florida Nursing License required.
  • American Heart Association BLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPN and MSN preferred.
  • Pediatrics experience preferred.
  • Care Management experience preferred.
