About The Position

By supporting new product development, your contributions are the backbone of the organization. The product development group is seeking detail-oriented operator to perform color matching, create customer samples, produce color masters, and conduct research studies. You will continuously learn new chemistries, new technologies, and new processes to develop effective and innovative solutions to complex customer challenges. Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work and complete tasks without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of molding machines, extruders, color software, pigments and resins.
  • Able to adjust for flexibility in scheduling to manage critical projects.
  • Must pass color test and math test.
  • Experience in lab setting.
  • Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours during the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs on any particular day.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and turn frequently throughout an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for successful facilitation of all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Always utilize appropriate PPE.
  • Contribute to improving the safety culture and system by staying engaged in safety.
  • Weigh pigments, resins, and additives as directed.
  • Maintain inventory of pigments and resins.
  • Operate all Technology molding machines.
  • Operate all Technology mixers.
  • Operate all Technology extruders and pelletizers.
  • Adjust / approve color formulas efficiently and independently.
  • Utilize computer software as needed such as; Primos, Microsoft office.
  • Utilize Spectrophotometer color matching software (such as X-Rite) to adjust rejects, samples, and matches.
  • Work closely with PDT/PDE/Colorist to develop colors and color producing processes.
  • Understand match schedule, sample schedule, match request, lab cards, and job cards.
  • Create Masters for OEM.
  • Support OEM color submission as needed.
  • Address chip quality – mixing, splay, jetting, temps, flash, etc.
  • Calculate lubricants.
  • Calculate let downs for color concentrate.
  • Perform labeling and packaging duties for masters, match chips and samples.
  • Utilize project management skills to handle multiple projects, priorities and activities
  • Responsible for cleanliness of work area
