About The Position

Suncoast Credit Union is offering a Collegiate Internship Program! The 10-week paid internship features an educational and skills-based curriculum designed to foster strong leadership qualities, goal development, and professional networking. This hands-on program provides college students with the opportunity to work in a department alongside Suncoast Credit Union employees. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently obtained a bachelor’s degree in Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Open to current students or 2025/2026 graduates ONLY
  • Ability to work up to full-time onsite in Tampa, FL (20-40 hours)
  • Knowledge of scripting, computer programming, query languages, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Support fraud analytics initiatives by extracting, cleaning, and validating large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to build reliable datasets for fraud monitoring, investigative support, and KPI reporting.
  • Use Python (e.g., pandas) to automate recurring analyses, perform data wrangling, and develop repeatable reporting workflows.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to track fraud trends, operational performance, and key risk indicators.
  • Assist in fraud trend analysis—including emerging patterns, anomaly detection, and channel comparisons—and summarize insights for business partners.
  • Define and calculate fraud metrics (e.g., fraud rate, FPR/TPR, losses) and ensure consistent metric definitions across reporting.
  • Create clear documentation for datasets, dashboard logic, metric definitions, and repeatable processes.
  • Collaborate with Fraud Operations, Investigations, and Technology teams to translate business requirements into analytical outputs.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly insight summaries and present key findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
