About The Position

WEG Transformers USA seeks motivated and dependable College Interns to support manufacturing operations at the Washington, Missouri site during the approaching summer term of up to thirteen weeks. Interns will receive a project-based assignment in selected business functions. Each intern will deliver a mid-assignment presentation and a final presentation to site leadership, including WEG executives. Presentations summarize results, lessons learned, and potential future applications. This internship offers hands-on exposure to modern manufacturing operations within a growing global organization investing heavily in U.S. infrastructure, renewable energy, and advanced production systems. Interns build practical skills, professional communication experience, and leadership visibility that will support future career development.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university program
  • Active pursuit of a degree in a relevant field, including business, supply chain, operations, information systems, or related disciplines
  • Engineering students: Apply through the “Summer Engineering Internships” posting when available, which serves as the primary application path
  • Alignment with WEG’s mission, vision, and values
  • Demonstrated commitment to the WEG Code of Ethics & Values (4th Edition)
  • Strong commitment to ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ACCIDENTS with safe work practices expected 100% of the time
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges
  • Current authorization to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of the recruiting and pre-employment process, including: Application, Talent Assessment, Job interview, Pre-employment drug screen, Background check
  • For safety-sensitive positions, drug testing includes THC in accordance with applicable policy

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned improvement projects, which may include: Workforce retention initiatives, Inventory management improvements, Site expansion and space-planning support, Process documentation and administrative accuracy initiatives, Employee suggestion and engagement systems, Project management process improvements, Learning & Development structure support
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to meet defined project goals and timelines
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to site leadership
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement discussions
