Collections Assistant- Remote (PA or MI locals)

Overview: The Collections Assistant plays a key role in supporting the collections or accounts receivable department by managing overdue accounts, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely communication with clients or customers.
Requirements
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Familiarity with billing systems and collection techniques.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Previous experience in collections, billing, or customer service is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts.
- Contact clients to discuss overdue payments and develop repayment plans.
- Maintain detailed records of collection activity and client interactions.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding billing and account status.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Prepare and send regular reports on collection status.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the efficiency of the collections team.
