About The Position

A Collections Assistant at Farmers Bank works with customers with past-due accounts to facilitate the timely repayment of debt and to minimize the delinquency rate of the Bank. Position Type: Full-time, non-exempt Department: Loans Reports to: Collections Manager

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to engage in customer call experience
Working knowledge of collateral instruments; and
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite
Eager to learn and continuously seek improvement in performance
Confident and curious with the use of technology
Strong communication skills with an ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers and the public
Proven job experience with initiative, reliability, and professionalism; and
A valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

Contacts customers to determine the reason for delinquent payments and to collect on loan accounts and NSF checks
Follows-up on delinquent loans that are in arrears and charged-off loans to determine the appropriate action to be taken
Creates and sends collection letters such as right to cure default letters, etc.
Collects on out-of-town bank assignments
Processes customer requests for extensions on loans
Maintains records to ensure that loan files are up to date and accurate; and
Collects on and tracks charged-off checking accounts and maintains tracking system to track recoveries
