About The Position

This role is ideal for a motivated leader who excels at coaching and developing high-performing collections teams while ensuring an outstanding customer experience. You will oversee day-to-day operations, monitor performance metrics, and implement strategies to optimize results. The Assistant Collections Manager is responsible for motivating collectors, driving productivity, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. You will also provide guidance on collection strategies, conduct performance reviews, and support continuous process improvement. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills to meet both short-term and long-term organizational goals while fostering a positive team environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in collections, financial services, or related field.
  • At least 3 years in a consumer collections management role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a geographically dispersed team.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite; ability to manage data and analyze performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of collection industry regulations and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop collections staff to achieve performance targets and maintain high morale.
  • Monitor daily and monthly workflows, including dialer campaigns and queue management, to meet team objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback to direct reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations while maintaining excellent customer interactions.
  • Audit collection activities, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend strategic changes to reduce delinquency.
  • Foster a collaborative and goal-oriented team culture that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.
