Our experienced MRI coil repair technicians specialize in diagnostics, refurbishment, and precision repair, ensuring every coil meets high standards for performance and reliability. Through advanced repair capabilities and adherence to ISO 13485 quality processes, we help extend coil life, improve imaging performance, and reduce downtime. The Coil Repair Technician II is responsible for advanced testing, troubleshooting, and repair of coils. This role requires intermediate-level expertise in electronics, including analog, digital, and RF circuit analysis. This role will contribute to repair processes, develop documentation, and help enhance the quality and efficiency of operations through hands-on problem-solving and design of test systems.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or 2-3 years of completed bachelor's degree coursework in electronics or a related field or Military electronics training plus 7 years of experience in a related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant hands-on electronics repair experience.
  • Intermediate-level electronics knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in complex soldering techniques and PCB rework.
  • Solid understanding of electrical schematics, circuits, and components.
  • Strong technical foundation in electrical theory and component-level diagnostics.
  • Experience using a variety of electronic tools including multimeters and other measuring tools, analyzers, power supplies, and RF testing equipment, following good safety techniques and practices.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Organized and detail-orientated
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

Responsibilities

  • Review, test, and repair coils to OEM specifications.
  • Complete repairs and reworks according to work instructions and procedures.
  • Conduct QA testing to verify that parts are repaired and fully operational.
  • Perform component-level rework, including hand soldering and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Plated Through-hole soldering (PTH) repairs.
  • Enter inventory data and maintain accurate records.
  • Proficient with electronic test equipment including digital multimeters and other measuring tools, analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Perform PCB-level rework, including hand soldering and SMT/PTH technology repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of analog, digital, and RF circuits at system, subassembly, and component levels.
  • Write and maintain work procedures, test protocols, and repair documentation as needed.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining updated repair and operating procedures and forms.
  • Ability to repair up to 35-channel coils.
  • Follow FDA Good Documentation Practices (GDocP) and 21CFR820 Quality Management Regulations
  • Creating, reviewing, and updating work instructions and other quality related documents as well as following all processes to ensure ISO 13485, FDA QMSR and other regulatory (i.e. EU MDR) compliance.
  • Assist in developing/updating procedures and forms
  • Accurately and legibly document test results
