About The Position

This position is designed for management trainees and responsible for leadership development. The right candidate would be put into a leadership program. The candidate will rotate positions for a period of nine months or more to gain a full understanding of our business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or management experience
  • Two years of experience in a construction or facilities environment.
  • Strong Skill set for customer service
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong desire to manage people and a yard
  • Willing to relocate if the need arises
  • Willing to travel to various yards
  • Analytical skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Safety, quality, and production awareness

Responsibilities

  • Will move through different areas of the company and gain a variety of experience in the company.
  • Train on understanding the business and industry.
  • Learn and understand the various types & pricing of metals.
  • Train to lead and supervise employees, insuring productivity, profitability, quality and safety.
  • Train to inspect all incoming project materials.
  • Assist in developing and communicating department goals.
  • Communicate with operations about possible problems or needs for the department.
  • Supervise, mentor, and assist other department employees as needed.
  • Keep track of preventative maintenance checklist.
  • Ability to learn operation of all equipment and assist in the operation of equipment within the department.
  • Oversee the activities of all employees as it relates to commodity tallies and keeping team members motivated.
  • Train future and present scale buyers.
  • Understand various metal grades and the process of sorting and grading within an element in order to produce a quality product.
  • Collect information concerning work in process and finished product.
  • Accurately write up receiving reports.
  • While performing the duties of the job the employee is asked to stand, bend, walk, sit, use hands, use tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push pull or crawl.
  • Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly checks on accuracy of inventory.
