The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet (EEC) serves the public by enforcing laws relating to natural resources and the environment. The EEC encompasses a wide variety of functions related to the protection of the environment and the health and safety of its citizens while supporting a positive business climate EEC has internships opportunities, in 18 locations, that serve the entire commonwealth. This is an Interim position. An Interim position means a position established to address a one-time or recurring need of less than nine (9) months duration and exempt from the classified service under KRS 18A.115. Interns can expect: EEC offers fall, spring, and summer internships Undergraduate student - $16.44 Graduate student - $19.09 37.5-hour work week EEC gear Great experience to build a resume Intern duties include: Accompanying field staff on site visits. Assisting full time employees in performing inspections in addition to reviewing and analyzing data that was collected. Work with other interns and full-time staff on collaborative projects. Qualifications to apply: Must be a student in pursuit of a degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Physical Sciences (recent graduates will be considered). 3.0 GPA. Great communication skills. Strong technical and analytical skills. Self-starter, motivated, and eager to learn. Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
