About The Position

PGL, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Co-Op Engineer - Gas Storage Engineering in our Fisher, Illinois location. This position reports to the Engineering Manager. This position will begin in May 2026 and will be full-time through the summer and fall semester. The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 with paid company holidays. Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Systems Engineering & Design, and Petroleum Engineering or closely related degree with a graduation date of July 2026 or later.
Minimum GPA of 2.8
Valid driver’s license

Prior Internship experience
Mechanical Aptitude
Mechanical Troubleshooting experience
Fluid or Thermal dynamics project experience
AutoCAD experience

Responsibilities

Underground gas storage – methane stored at 1750 psi 4000 ft. below surface
Field piping, valves, and gas storage wells
Station piping, valves, regulators, meters, heat exchangers, and processes
Withdrawal process with slug catchers, tri-ethylene glycol dehydrators, reboilers and thermal oxidizers
Injection process with three 5000 hp natural gas powered compressors
CO2 Removal process
LNG Liquefaction process – convert methane from gas to liquid at -260 degrees F
LNG Vaporization process – convert liquid LNG back to a gas
