About The Position

We’re looking for a highly organized and detail-driven CNC Turret / Tool Crib Attendant to support our turret punch and CNC sheet metal operations. This role is responsible for issuing, inspecting, organizing, and maintaining turret tooling, punches, dies, holders, fixtures, and consumables. You will work directly with machine operators, setup technicians, and production supervisors to ensure tooling is always available, accurate, and in optimal condition. If you enjoy a mix of hands-on mechanical work, inventory control, and supporting fast-paced fabrication operations, this role is a strong fit.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1–2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision tooling.
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other basic measuring instruments.
  • Comfort working with ERP/MRP systems for inventory and tool tracking.
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred (or willingness to be trained).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, read job travelers, and interpret tooling information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC turret punch presses, sheet metal tooling, or machine shop operations is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Issue turret tooling, punches, dies, and related components to machine operators based on job travelers and setup sheets.
  • Track tooling usage, life, and returns through the company’s ERP/MRP system.
  • Inspect incoming and returned tools for wear, chipping, damage, or incorrect sizing.
  • Prepare, label, and organize tooling kits for upcoming jobs, including backup tools.
  • Perform basic cleaning, deburring, and maintenance tasks on turret tooling.
  • Send tools out for sharpening, regrinding, or replacement as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, audits, and restocking.
  • Organize the tool crib according to 5S standards and maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Communicate with operators, supervisors, and purchasing regarding tool condition, shortages, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to tool life, downtime reduction, and material flow.
  • Follow all safety protocols and report any issues or hazards immediately.
