About The Position

You roll into a new client site representing FlexTrades, unpack your precision tools, and get right to work on a Swiss-type CNC lathe (Star, Citizen, Tsugami, or Index). You load material, set tools, dial in offsets, and bring the first article into spec. Throughout the shift, you read and interpret prints, confirm critical dimensions with micrometers and calipers, and fine-tune programs and operations to keep quality and throughput high. You collaborate with engineering and production to smooth bottlenecks, document what you’ve done, and leave the workstation cleaner than you found it—all while following safety protocols. Travel to and succeed at various client sites as part of a collaborative traveling team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; machining-focused technical education or certification preferred.
• Hands-on experience as a Swiss Machinist.
• Fluency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and other precision gauges.
• Strong problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Comfort working independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Clear communication skills and a steadfast commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Swiss-style CNC machines to manufacture precision components.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan and execute setups.
• Verify parts using precision measurement tools to ensure they meet specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Partner with engineering and production teams to refine processes and improve efficiency.
• Keep work areas organized and compliant with safety standards.
• Document setups, production processes, and results clearly and accurately.
