About The Position

Our large manufacturing client located in Peoria, Illinois, is looking for a CNC Programmer, to add to their team. JOB DESCRIPTION Create new CNC programs, or modify/update existing CNC programs as required for manufacturing Provide programming support during part prove-outs. Update program as needed Create new or update existing manufacturing process documentation of programmed parts Assist with program issues or updates needed on a promptly manner to ensure manufacturing of parts to specification Provide programming shop support Participate of engineering team meetings, and collaborate as needed Provide status updates and documentation as needed Work with cross-functional teams, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers & operations leaders on assigned projects or activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar field is preferred, but not required
  • At least two years of experience as a CNC programmer is required
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling and tapping is required
  • Must be able to read/write programs in G code
  • Must have good blueprint reading skills and experience with GD&T
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience programming in CAM software (i.e. NX, Creo/Pro-E, EdgeCam, etc.) is desired, but not required
  • Experience with 3D modeling in CAD software (i.e. NX, Creo/Pro-E, Solidworks, etc.) is desired, but not required
  • Understanding of fixture design is desired
  • Experience selecting cutting tools is desired

Responsibilities

  • Create new CNC programs, or modify/update existing CNC programs as required for manufacturing
