The CNC Programmer will work from solid models and technical drawings to create programs used on Complex Bar-Fed 5-Axis Milling Machines, Swiss Turning Machines, and Conventional 5-Axis milling machines. What you’ll do Develop CNC Programs and manufacturing processes for new and legacy 5 axis, mill-turn, and/or Swiss lathe parts Utilize best programming practices to create efficient and reliable CNC programs Create 3D models and manufacturing drawings for custom tooling, work holding, and fixtures Program parts and fixtures using CAM software using Gibbs CAM Use machine simulation software to ensure collision free code Aid in quoting new work, including design for manufacturability feedback to customers Set up and run CNC mills and lathes as needed to support new product introduction and continuous improvement efforts Communicate with, mentor and teach machinists new skills Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas on new and legacy parts. What you need to thrive in this role Degree in Engineering or related field OR equivalent work experience 5+ years of relevant work experience in CNC machining / manufacturing Experience setting up CNC equipment and writing programs Knowledge and understanding of quality instruments and how to use them Experience with business side of operation (quoting, customer relations, production planning, etc.) Experience with GD&T and knowledge of complex inspection techniques is required (CMM, Vision System, etc.) Self-Starter / Self-Motivated / Flexible / Detail-Oriented. Reliable and dependable. Positive internal and customer focused attitude. Must enjoy fast pace and rapidly changing environment. Strong ability to organize, prioritize and execute.
