About The Position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to support our hydraulic distribution and repair operations. This role focuses on programming, optimizing, and supporting CNC machining processes used to manufacture and repair hydraulic components such as cylinders, manifolds, shafts, pistons, and custom parts. The position requires an industry-specific emphasis on hydraulic systems, repair tolerances, and custom one-off or short-run production. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be integral to delivering high-quality products that support our clients in the mining and heavy equipment industries.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience programming CNC mills and/or lathes in a manufacturing or repair environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of G-code programming and CAM software (such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent).
  • Experience with 3-axis, 3+2, or 5-axis CNC machines and common CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Siemens).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T symbols.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve machining and programming challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce programs that meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work in a shop environment, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift materials or tooling.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training, apprenticeship, or CNC programming certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes used in hydraulic component manufacturing and repair.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and job orders to determine machining strategies, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and tool life.
  • Perform test runs, troubleshoot programs, and validate machining processes prior to production or repair runs.
  • Work closely with machinists, repair technicians, and engineering staff to ensure programs meet job requirements and timelines.
  • Assist with first-article inspections and dimensional verification to ensure compliance with customer and internal standards.
  • Identify and resolve machining, tooling, and programming issues to maintain production quality and throughput.
  • Maintain accurate CNC program documentation, revision control, and machining notes.
