About The Position

Electrical Thermal Solutions (ETS), part of Spirax Group, creates electrical process heating and temperature management solutions. Durex Industries, one of ETS's businesses, has over 40 years of expertise in thermal control, providing custom thermal solutions, engineering design, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance services to various industry sectors including process industries, life sciences, plastics processing, food and packaging, aerospace, defense, and security. As a CNC Setup Programmer, you will be responsible for providing programming and manufacturing leadership to production cells. This includes programming expertise, specifying tooling usage, integrating new technology, and leading efficiency improvements through technology implementation, best-practice manufacturing methodologies, and personnel training.

Requirements

  • 5+ years CNC programming experience for 3‑ to 5‑axis mills and lathes using Mastercam (2017+).
  • Ability to program complex parts from 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
  • Strong understanding of G‑code, M‑code, speeds, and feeds.
  • Ability to create clear setup sheets, tooling documentation, and process notes.
  • Ability to work successfully with a team.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Okuma machines and OSP controls.
  • Turn‑mill / mill‑turn programming experience.
  • Experience with in‑process probing, inspection routines, and measurement systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe machining and setup practices and enforce all safety policies.
  • Program 3‑ to 5‑axis mills and lathes using Mastercam (2017+).
  • Generate setup documentation, tool lists, and machining notes.
  • Update and improve machining process specifications (SOPs).
  • Support first‑piece inspections and setup optimization.
  • Drive machining process improvements and tooling strategies.
  • Participate in NPI and manufacturability reviews.
  • Provide proper setup training (starting with setup leads); identify current setup problems and recommend solutions.
  • Oversee launch of new designs into CNC production cells, ensuring that all relevant personnel understand machining requirements and proper tooling is engaged.
  • Recommend new equipment and enhancements, ensuring capital investments are deployed properly with sufficient training.
  • Drive strategic vision for achieving world‑class CNC operations.
