About The Position

The CNC Programmer I is responsible for all CNC programs for manufacturing equipment directly impacting on the overall performance objectives for the company and compliance to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements and/or division. This position significantly impacts Rexnord’s ability in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is a Non-Exempt hourly technical position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field desired or 2+ years of manufacturing or industrial technical field, programming CNC equipment is required.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to work directly with machinist on ensuring quality and reliability of programs generated.
  • Ability to determine cycle time and track insert life
  • Excellent computer skills (CAD/CAM, Auto Cad, Shop Cam, Solid Works, Master Cam word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.) are required.
  • Skilled in- G and M code editing, Macro style programming, multi axis function(s) and Fanuc/Okuma/Mazak controllers
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
  • Self-starter working with little direct supervision
  • Team orientated with the ability to influence others without authority

Nice To Haves

  • Experience programming using CAM software is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ability to write programs that will machine complex parts to very close tolerances (.0005) on multiple axes on various machining centers.
  • Horizontal Machining Centers including Macro, sub program and variable programming knowledge.
  • 4 axis lathes, 5 axis lathes, Y axis lathes, and Vertical Machining Centers large and small
  • “Shop Floor” problem solving.
  • Maintain program libraries and revision status of program revisions per NADCAP requirements.
  • Hands-on knowledge of the programs storage and the ability to assist shop associates in uploading and downloading programs
  • Ability to select appropriate inserts based on material and machining requirements
