About The Position

Kaspar Outdoors is seeking a results-driven CNC Manufacturing Engineer to lead CNC programming excellence while driving plant-wide process optimization. The CNC Manufacturing Engineer will translate engineering designs into efficient machine programs, improve job routings and workflows, and champion Lean initiatives across machining and assembly operations. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with continuous improvement leadership in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Mastercam (or equivalent CAM software)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision tolerances
  • Deep knowledge of CNC milling and turning, cutting tools, speeds & feeds
  • Experience with ERP systems, job routings, and BOM management
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to coach machinists and drive accountability
  • High attention to detail and process discipline
  • Effective cross-functional communication
  • Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic improvement
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC programming or manufacturing engineering
  • Minimum 3 years in CNC machining environments
  • Proven ability to optimize machining processes and reduce waste
  • SolidWorks experience; Mastercam proficiency preferred
  • Strong background in inspection tools and quality systems

Responsibilities

  • Program CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines using Mastercam or equivalent CAM software
  • Optimize CNC programs to reduce cycle time and improve first-pass yield
  • Develop and maintain organized program libraries, tooling strategies, and setup documentation
  • Own and improve job routings, SOPs, and standard work for machining and assembly
  • Partner with Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability and smooth product launches
  • Lead root cause analysis, PFMEA activities, and corrective action implementation
  • Drive Lean initiatives including Kaizen events, 5S, and waste reduction projects
  • Support ERP routing accuracy, BOM control, and engineering change processes
  • Improve CNC cell throughput, operator efficiency, and equipment utilization
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure GD&T compliance and inspection accuracy
  • Support equipment troubleshooting, tooling design, and preventative maintenance
  • All other duties as assigned by management
