You’ll also help guide and train junior machinists while overseeing multiple CNC machines, including large 5-axis machining centers. The CNC Machinist III will play a key leadership role in ensuring quality, precision, and efficiency across the machining department—contributing to company success in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA). This is an exceptional opportunity for a master machinist ready to take ownership of production excellence in a world-class aerospace facility.

  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 aerospace quality standards.
  • Proficient in CAD, CAM, MRP, and ERP systems.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and related software.
  • High initiative with a strong commitment to first-part quality.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to provide technical feedback to improve product quality and cost efficiency.

  • Adherence to OSHA, NADCAP, ISO9000/AS9100, ITAR, and FAA standards.
  • May require internal certifications (Forklift, Slings/Cranes, FPV, etc.).
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach for 8–12 hours per shift.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Tolerate manufacturing noise, vibration, and temperature variations.
  • Must wear required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection).

Responsibilities

  • Guide and train CNC Machinists I & II on setting up and operating 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, tolerances, and work instructions to plan machining operations.
  • Perform detailed in-process inspections using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM, etc.).
  • Make program edits, offset adjustments, and calculations to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Monitor machine performance, ensure tooling accuracy, and maintain consistent part quality.
  • Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure regular equipment maintenance and promote safety-first work practices.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records per AS9100 standards.
  • Direct and assist with deburring, finishing, and inspection of parts for precision fit and finish.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
  • Use and edit G-code and CNC control parameters as needed for advanced machining.
